Rosso Monza is one of those colors you want to see as often as possible, yet also not too often—because by being offered as an Extracampionario (special-order) color, it remains exclusive. You won’t find this classic shade in any standard 458 Italia brochure, which makes this example all the more unique.

The absence of details like the Scuderia Ferrari shields on the front fenders further emphasizes the clean and timeless configuration. In this case, their absence actually makes a statement, allowing the pure beauty of the 458’s lines to shine—just as intended. The red is bold enough to be unmistakably Ferrari, yet elegant enough to make a refined impression. In other words, just right. The deep red body is subtly complemented by grey wheels with golden brake calipers behind them. Every detail clearly has been thoughtfully chosen.

The exotic supercar feel continues inside. The seats, steering wheel, dashboard, door panels, and center console are all wrapped in Nero leather. The black surfaces are beautifully finished with contrasting Bianco (white) stitching. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a 458 Italia, at least by modern Ferrari standards. That same white tone also appears in the Bianco rev counter—analog, of course, because less is more.

With looks this stunning and such natural beauty, you’d almost be afraid to tick any option boxes. But a few smart choices were made: an integrated navigation system with Bluetooth brings you back down to earth when the rush of emotions from driving takes over. The previous owner chose to fit Grigio Opaco ‘458 Speciale’ wheels with titanium bolts, which—alongside the golden brake calipers, carbon center caps, and rear spoiler—complete the refined exterior.

It might be a stretch to call the engineering of this Ferrari V8 “simple,” but it is naturally aspirated. That means no turbos or electric assistance. The 4.5-liter Ferrari engine reaches its peak at 9,000 RPM. For comparison, its two successors and the SF90 hit their peak 1,000 RPM earlier. Torque is at its best at 6,000 RPM in the Italia, while the others achieve that at just 3,000 RPM. That says it all: the Ferrari 458 is still a gloriously high-revving machine.

Its 0–100 km/h acceleration in 3.4 seconds feels like magic. With that thrilling, rising engine note and emotional drama, there’s no shortage of excitement. The Capristo kit—which allows the original exhaust valves to open even at low revs—perfectly completes the package. This is Ferrari driving at its purest.
